Materuni Waterfalls (also known locally as Nambe Waterfall) is one of the tallest and most breathtaking waterfalls in northern Tanzania. Plunging approximately 70 to 90 meters (230–295 feet) down a sheer cliff into a swimmable natural basin, it is fed by fresh glacial runoff directly from Mount Kilimanjaro. Located in the lush green foothills of the mountain, it serves as a highly popular day-trip destination for active recovery or acclimatization before or after a mountain trek.

Begin a guided hike through the lush landscape towards Materuni Waterfalls. The walk typically takes around 45–90 minutes depending on pace and trail conditions. At the waterfall, enjoy the spectacular scenery, take photographs, explore the surrounding forest, and, where conditions are suitable, enjoy a refreshing swim.
Return to the village and enjoy a freshly prepared traditional Chagga lunch, providing an opportunity to taste local cuisine and relax after the hike.
