Days 1-3: Trekking The Ngorongoro Highlands

This trek starts with a descent into the Empakai Crater, known for its alkaline lake and flamingos. You'll then spend the next two days trekking with donkeys through traditional Maasai landscapes, passing the Naiyobi Village and descending into the more arid country towards Lake Natron. You'll camp at special campsites along the way.

Day 4: Midnight Climb of Oldoinyo Lengai

After arriving at your campsite near Lake Natron, you'll rest and prepare for the midnight climb. You'll be transferred to the base of the mountain and begin the ascent around midnight, aiming for a sunrise summit.

Day 5: Lake Natron and return to Arusha

After the climb and a well-earned rest, you'll have the chance to visit the Lake Natron shoreline to see the flamingos before driving back to Arusha.

What should I pack for my safari or trekking tour?

For safaris, we recommend packing lightweight, neutral-colored clothing, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, binoculars, and a camera. For trekking, you’ll need hiking boots, warm layers, waterproof gear, and other essentials. We will provide a detailed packing list for specific tours upon booking.
